Are You Planning A Disney Trip?

I am curious how many of my wonderful readers are planning a trip to Disney and growing their own Disney fund!

If you are planning a trip, leave me a comment and let me know when you are wanting to go and your plans. I'd love to know!

Starting in January, things are going to get more Disney around here. It's actually going to be crunch time for my trip in May. I'll be posting more Disney tips, our plans, etc etc.

I have had a lot of people ask me if I am going to continue this blog after our trip in May and I just wanted to say MOST DEFINITELY! We plan to go at least once a year so there is always going to be a trip to save for. :)

So leave me a comment and let me know what is going on in your Disney life.

After starting to read your blog, we, as a family, sat down and discussed when we would like to take a Disney trip. We have decided 2011, just not exactly when. I guess it would depend on when we have all the money saved. We picked 2011 because my daughter is only a year old right now so she would be about 2 1/2 and I think she will have more fun then. My sons will be 10 and 7. We will mostly likely then save up money and go again for when my daughter is older. I want my sons to have a young experience so we will go this time for them and next for her.

My husband and I went in April to Disneyland and are saving to go again. Our Disneyfund has to be quite a bit bigger because we have to save for airfare too.

Hey Kristin,
We are planning our next for sure trip in March for Spring Break. We bought annual passes last year when we were there as we live in Florida and it wasn't much more then the passes we were going to purchase. I have 4 kiddos 7, 5,5 and 3, and they are enjoying going every few months for birthdays and such. After the first, I am going to follow your lead and keep track of what I'm saving, rebates etc. and set up a "Disney Fund"! We just love that place!!

Thanks for all you do!

We go about once a month and were just there this past saturday actually. Our "big" trip isn't until June though. My husband & both our sons all share a birthday, so we're making it an annual birthday tradition for as long as we live in Florida. I won't start any major work for that trip until after the first of the year. I don't do a ton of planning though. We always stay at POP and I try not to plan too many TS meals beyond the actual birthday dinner. (We suck at sticking to a schedule!) Can't wait to read your plans!

Hi!
We live in Florida and we are Disney Passholders. We visit a few times each month (we were there yesterday). We have stayed at many of the Disney resorts and other hotels in the area. We're only an hour away, so many days we just go for the afternoon, after school. If you need any info, I would be happy to provide some (from a frequent visitor and Florida perspective:)
Thanks for all you do!

We went last year for the first time and LOVED it! I never thought I'd want to go two years in a row, but that is our plan. Your blog is so inspiring. I started couponing in November, but used the saved money for Christmas. In January, I must religiously start putting every saved cent into a special account like you do. Any tips on how to do that and not get caught up in spending the extra money?

Hi Kristin!

Love your blog!

Hope to plan a Disney vacation in the next two years. (Two possible weddings scheduled for next year)

Thank so much for sharing all your tips and everything that you do for us!

Best regards,
Emily in Florida
ps... I am exercising right along with you ;-)

I am going down to Disney from Michigan in 47 LONG days for a wonderful one week stay. We tend to do our trips as frugal as possible and your blog has helped us to save even more in our everyday life, I only wish I had found it sooner.

We are off on the Disney Cruise January 17th and then will follow it up with a few days at the parks. It is snowing here today which is making me even more anxious to get to the Florida weather!

Thank you for your blog!

My family of six go every year by saving money from each paycheck so by the time the final payment is due - we are alomost paid off!
We are planning to be there from Aug. 20 - 29, 2010. 2 rooms(standard) at the Pop Century w/10 day Magic Your Way tickets plus the Water park Fun & More Option. It gets superhot in August so doing a water park is a must. My family and I LOVE Disney :)

Hi Kristin!
Waiting under the Christmas tree this year will be an April Disney vacation! I CAN'T WAIT! While I don't have a Disney fund quite as organized as yours, the money you have helped me save since I first found your blog a couple months ago is making a HUGE difference! Thanks so much!

Hey Kristin! We are heading to Disney next November just in time for the holiday festivities! It is not just my family that is going (made up of 5 small kiddos) but also my 2 sisters families ( add 5 more small kiddos and a teenager) and my mother! So coordinating for all these families has been quite the process. The plan has been in the works for 2 years now. Less than a year out and counting-
Thanks for all you do,
Autumn

We're planning a tentative trip for January 2011. My girls will be almost 3 and 20 months then, which means they get in for free. I've been selling their old baby items on CL, selling textbooks on half.com, saving rebates, change, and the bonus money from my bank's members program. There's not much yet, but I'm planning on getting serious about it in January. Thanks so much for your blog and hard work!

I am ALWAYS planning a trip to Disney. I got married last year on Castaway Cay during my Disney Cruise and Honeymooned at disney. Then this year we went back for our anniversary. I am actually working on a trip report now. WWW.goldeelox9.wordpress.com We are hoping to go back the first weekend of March, The a Weekend in August before our Next Cruise, then the first week in December and the for a week in January! I am not sure if we are going to be able to swing the March Trip, but the others are pretty much a go. I love Disney and love doing it as cheap as possible.

Hi Kristin! Thank you for your wonderful and inspiring blog! We hope to go to WDW in late 2010 or early 2011. We go to Disneyland a couple of times per year, but I would love to take my 2 year old to WDW. Plus I could use the vacation! Thank you for helping everyone save up to experience the magic of Disney!

Hello Kristin,
The answer to your question is YES! Your blog has inspired our family to plan our own "couponing to Disney" savings fund. Our family enjoys seeing how much you've saved and we're trying very hard to save like you. We're trying to save and go to Disney Nov. 2010. Thanks for your posts and we're looking forward to hearing all about your saving ideas!

Kristin,
My family went on our first Disney cruise in October after saving for it for a few years. We came home wanting to figure out how to save faster so we can return again. I found your blog shortly after returning from the trip and I was thrilled. You have definitly inspired me to commit more of my savings to a Disney Fund for my family. Your blog is, by far, my favorite! You did such a great job with all the deals! I'm anxious to read about all the Disney info you'll post in the new year.
So, we've started our Disney fund and hope to go on a cruise again and also want to go to DisneyWorld...we'll be working hard on saving our pennies!!

My husband and I have talked a lot over the last couple years about taking our kids (4 1/2 and 20 months) to Disney in the next few years. We wanted to wait until our youngest is a little older. I think that, had I not come across your blog, we would have probably continued talking about it for a few more years. But your blog has inspired me to take action!! I am planning on actively saving a Disney fund starting in January (after all my holiday spending of course). I am hoping that we can save enough in one year to plan our trip for early 2011. We also have to plan airfare into our budget, so not sure yet how realistic my one year goal is. So, thank you, for all your hardwork and inspiration!!

Our Next trip is Dec 26 - Jan 3. We camp it!! Best $42.00 a night I ever spent :)

We already have booked Thanksgiving 2010!! Florida is too hot to camp any other time.

One year we purchased a tent once we got there from a local discount chain and all the supplies and still only spent "pennies" for the 6 nights. (got all the food deals at a local publix).
We love to do all the FREE stuff at Disney.. Campfire, movies, pools, firework shows, boat rides,Disney stables, hiking, downtown window shopping and of course the monorail rides..we can fill 6 days with not even going into a park.
Best Event.. Hot Cocoa at the Polynesian Beach watching 2010 ring in..Best Family Tradition.

Hi Kristin,

LOVE the blog. I too am always excited to see how much you put into the vacation fund. I am always amazed and left saying HOW DID SHE DO THAT??
We live in the panhandle, but I grew up in south FL, we would go to disney ALL the time. Since our son turned 5 (he is now 13, and we added a daughter who is 6 now) we have gone to disney every summer. I have done disney several times just the kids and I. ( Hubby is a truck driver) This past May we went 1 day with the kids for my bday, and then hubby and I went for 7 days alone... WOW was it so different by ourselves. Cant wait to do it again. What a way to reconnect. Right now I am planning another trip, but this time I want to go after Thanksgiving, but before Christmas. That is my goal...I look forward to any and ALL tips you have on saving money. I have never stayed on site but would love to someday...

Great blog! My family is taking the planning to an extreme by planning our WDW trip for fall 2011. However, since we're budgeting to stay at one of the Villas, airfare for 4adults (grandma & grandpa in addition to myself & DH) & one child (will be 4), and food for 7 days, we will need a few years save enough cash for this BIG trip. We started saving in 2008 with our income tax refund and I thought we would just do that until 2011, but our refunds seem to be shrinking every year. Your blog made me realize that taking daily baby steps towards a Disney vacation will result in a big reward at the end.

We went for the first time in October and it was the most amazing vacation EVER! Before we left for vacation, we talked about doing it again in about 4 years when my daughter would be 8. After day 1, I told my husband that we were going back again NEXT YEAR! I had been saving money from a clinical research study I had done, so by the time we left, I had about $1800 in cash saved for us to spend. (We booked our vacation less that 75 days in advance!) I saved every single penny I could find. I am trying to get through the next couple of weeks and then I will sit down and start planning out my savings plan for next year. We are planning to do for fall break in October of 2010. We want to stay at the Wilderness Resort this time, so I've got to be agressive in my saving! We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside last time. Seriously....BEST vacation EVER!!!

Our trip is planned for early June 2010! My son is excited and so is my hubby! I went to Disney when I was about 12 years old.
I love your blog! It has given me such inspiration. I have also signed up for the survey sites and swagbucks as instructed by you. I appreciate the teacher and motivation you have.
Thanks,
