No Beer Purchase Required Rebates

The main way I save for my Disney fund is by using rebates. My favorite type of rebates are issued by alcohol companies and are commonly referred to as beer rebates.

Beer rebates are most often issued by Heineken, Budweiser and Coors and are found in grocery and convenience stores. You will not find them on the beer companies website. They require you to buy a certain amount of their product and in return they give you a rebate on commonly purchased items such as meat, produce, soda and even gift cards.

BUT if you live in one of the 14 states that by law do not allow rebates by alcohol beverage companies, you can still get the rebate on the commonly purchased item! (The lucky states are AL, AR, CT, HI, KY, ME, MD, MO, NC, NJ, NY, OK, UT and WV.)

What do I mean exactly? Say there is a rebate that reads "Buy 2 12 packs of Budweiser and $10 worth of meat. Submit your receipts and the rebate form and get $10 back." if you live in one of the lucky states, you just have to buy the meat! You would get $10 back via rebate for buying $10 worth of meat!

The fine print on the rebate will indicate if it is valid in your state.

Here is an example of a beer rebate: here. Notice along the bottom how it lists the states that do not require any beer purchases? Also look at this one. It lists in the fine print which states can participate and which ones require no beer purchase.

Another awesome thing about beer rebates is 90% of the time they require receipts instead of just receipt. So you can use multiple receipts to purchase all the qualifying items.

Always make sure to notice the start and end date for the rebate. They usually have both.

So now that I told you about beer rebates, I bet you want to find some yourself. I rarely find them in my store so I have to either buy them online or trade for them on Hot Coupon World. You can buy them on Ebay by searching "Beer Rebates". Make sure you read the fine print!

If you want to trade for them, you need to start here.

Here are all the beer rebates I know about. I find them in the Gimme My Money Back forum on HCW. (Listed by expiration date. Most of these are valid in more states than just Alabama, but I am pulling these off my personal list. I live in AL so that's why.)

What if you don't live in one of the lucky states? Is there a way to participate in these rebates without purchasing alcohol (we don't drink)? Thanks!

No, Unfortunately if you live in one of the states that require beer purchase there is no way around that. :(

Does the products have to be purchased in that state (NBPR)? We shop across the line, but live in a NBPR state. How does that work?

Where do you typically find the rebate forms? Would they be with the alcohol, or with the food/other product itself?

Kristin from Couponing to Disney said...

You find the rebates on displays of the beer. :)

I found the Budweiser $6.00 rebate. Do I have to purchase all the items on the form? I live in the "lucky" state of Alabama

Kristin from Couponing to Disney said...

No, you just have to buy $6 worth of any of the items. It can be all of one type or a combination of. :)

I live in Ny, the rebate says it is valid in Ny, but it is only for beer, buy one 12 pack save $3. Is it only good for rebates with food on them?

If anyone ends up with rebates that can be used in MO I'm interested in trading or buying them. I will look at the stores to see if I can obtain some but haven't seen any so assuming the people that work there keep them off the liquor. thanks!
